Oita City Comprehensive Gymnasium

The Comprehensive Gymnasium is located inside the Osu Comprehensive Sports Park, and represents Oita Prefecture with its variety of amenities, including a separate fencing arena, climbing wall, and more. The Gymnasium hosts individual competitions, gatherings, social events, large-scale tournaments and events, and more, and is used be many people. From April 2020, all facilities, except for the fencing arena, will come under the management of Oita city.

  • Large Gym

    Large Gym

    The large gym can be used for a variety of uses, including for sports days and competitions for basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and more. There are 1,334 seats for spectators. It can also be divided and used as three separate spaces. The large gym requires a fee to be used.

  • Small Gym

    Small Gym

    The small gym can be used as a single basketball court or as two valley ball courts. It can be used as a sub-venue for large-scale tournaments. It can also be divided and used as two separate spaces. The small gym requires a fee to be used.

  • Judo Dojo

    Judo Dojo

    This dojo is mainly used for judo, aikido, and other martial arts. Users and visitors must remove their shoes and can be barefoot or in sock feet when inside, as the dojo floor is made of tatami straw mats. The dojo requires a fee to be used.

  • Kendo Dojo

    Kendo Dojo

    This dojo is mainly used for kendo, karate, and other martial arts. It is also used for table tennis, dance, and more. The dojo requires a fee to be used.

  • Fencing Arena

    Fencing Arena

    The only real fencing arena within the Oita city limits. Fencing practice and camps can be held here. Dance and acrobatics can also be practiced here. The arena requires a fee to be used.

  • Climbing Wall and Outdoor Bouldering Wall

    The climbing wall is approximately 15 meters high, complete with an area for bouldering. You must present a certificate of completion of a training course or an instructor’s license to use. Specialty shoes must be used (rental available), and use of the wall requires a fee.

    This bouldering wall is 15 meters wide and 4.5 meters high. You must present a certificate of completion of a training course or an instructor’s license to use. Specialty shoes must be used (rental available), and use of the wall requires a fee.

  • Training Room

    Training Room

    The training room features a variety of equipment, including treadmills, stationary bikes, weight-lifting equipment, free weights, and more. You must register before using this facility, and it requires a fee to be used.

  • Research Hall and Lecture Halls

    Research Hall and Lecture Halls

    The research hall can be used by approximately 100 researchers. It can also be divided into two rooms, with each room half size. There are two lecture halls, one for 36 people and another for 18. You can select which room will meet your needs and number of people. Research and lecture halls require a fee to be used.
